Flame-Shield protects most porous materials including non coated wood, most fabrics, carpeting, arts and crafts and dried flowers just to name a few. Protection will last for many months until the material is dry cleaned several times, or washed. Do not use on nylon. Product is water-soluble and will wash away with water. Toluene Description – Toluene is a common solvent , able to dissolve: paints , paint thinners,silicone sealants, many chemical reactants , rubber , printing ink, adhesives , lacquers , leather tanners , and disinfectants (Sold in 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums). Xylene Description – Xylene can be used in place of toluene to thin specified oil-basedpaints, lacquers and varnishes when a slower rate of evaporation is desired. Use to thin certain synthetic enamels, varnishes and adhesives. Removes grease and oil. Do not use as a general purpose cleaner. Brake Wash Description – Brake Wash is formulated to remove asbestos dust, oil, grease, brake fluid and other soils from brake parts. Mineral Spirits Description – Mineral Spirits is a multi-purpose cleaner and thinner. Mineral Spirits can be used as a thinner with paints, enamels, and varnishes. Phosphoric Acid Description – Phosphoric Acid may be used by direct application to rusted iron or steel tools or surfaces to convert iron oxide ( rust ) to a water soluble phosphate compound. Acetone Description – Acetone also called dimethyl ketone, is one of the ketone group of solvents that also includes methyl ethyl ketone. Mechanics, painters, and fiberglass workers are frequent users of acetone for various purposes in the shop, and many people are familiar with its pleasant sweet-smelling odor. Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) Description – Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) is used for washing surfaces prior to painting, especially exterior surfaces but try to mask all surfaces except the one you want to clean.
